Welcome to Villa Charchala (pronounced ha hal ar). The name comes from the Greek expression for “the sound of children’s laughter”. The property is also known locally as Villa Kipos (Greek for garden).
it is beautifully situated on the site of an old orchard approximately 200 meters from the centre of Kassiopi and the surrounding beaches.
With 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms the Villa is ideal for a large family, groups of friends or several families together. With the ample space inside and out, the house offers the occupants a rare opportunity to satisfy the desire to either socialise or to enjoy a little private time around the well-kept grounds.
All bedrooms have air conditioning and all the rooms have ceiling vans. Especially for the guests who make use of the house in the winter, the house has central and under floor heating. And for those who would like to celebrate Christmas in the Villa, a Christmas tree and decorations will be available. Logs for the open fire can be ordered upon request.
The Villa has a large garden, and is surrounded with an authentic wall, topped with railings and a large gate, this ensures privacy, tranquillity and a safe environment for children to enjoy the garden and the play equipment. The swings can easily be interchanged to suit the appropriate age of the child.
The Villa has a secluded outdoor swimming pool, where after dark the atmospheric lighting creates an ideal setting for long cosy evenings on the terrace enjoying the spectacular night sky.
The well-equipped BBQ has its own working area, refrigerator and lighting so can used either during the day or well after sunset.
From the Villa, especially from the balcony you have a magnificent view over the village Kassiopi, the sea and in the distance Albania.
The Villa is fitted with free Wi-Fi, a safe, alarm system, satellite receiver with flat screen TV, DVD player, hairdryers, and child gates.
This also includes an outdoor pool table. There is adequate parking facilities for four cars.
The villa is serviced three times weekly by the villa manager, who will ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible.

The ground floor is given over to a large open plan living area that includes a fully fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge. The lounge has a satellite television system. There is also a twin bedroom and family bathroom situated on this floor.
THE UPPER FLOOR
The upper floor is given over to a spacious master bedroom with an en suite bathroom and balcony with sea view. This balcony is shared with an adjacent large double bedroom. There are two further twin bedrooms and an additional bathroom on this floor. The master and one of the twin bedrooms can easily accomodate cots for infants that can be booked in advance if required.
GARDEN AND SWiMMiNG POOL
Outside the 900 square meter garden features two large lawns, one with a children’s play area. They are planted with a variety of local fruit trees. Visitors are welcome to help themselves at their own risk.
The swimming pool is serviced three times a week, its dimensions are 10 meters (30 feet) long by 5 meters (15 feet) wide and slopes gently from a set of wide entry steps to a depth of 1.8 meters (six feet). it is surround by a non slip patio that is a natural sun trap all day.
A Pergola with jasmine covered patio overlooks the swimming pool and provides an ideal outdoor seating and dining area that is especialy enjoyable when using the build in barbecue. This patio is also accessed from the kitchen area of the villa.
The shaded pool table is always very popular with all our visitors.
About the area:
Kassiopi is a village, and a resort on the affluent north east coast of Corfu, ionian islands. it is in the municipal unit of Kassopaia.
Historically, a small traditional fishing village, the town itself has been heavily developed and with more luxury villas now outside it, but it remains a summer social centre heavily visited by tourists, particularly popular with visitors from Britain and italy.
Upon arrival in Corfu there are a number of ways of getting to Charchala.
By Taxi. This is the recommended route, it will cost between 60 & 80 euros per vehicle and takes approximately three quarters of an hour.
By Bus. A service exists to Kassiopi from the central bus station, this requires taking a bus from the airport into Corfu town, and changing to the appropriate bus, be warned it is infrequent and at times takes three and half hours, this is not the advised route.
By Car. This is the most adventurous route, you can hire a car at the airport or can pre booked through us. Follow the directions and this journey will take approximately an hour and a half.

You will pass through Dassia, ipsos, Nissaki and Sinies
Look for a sign declaring that you are in the “Municipality of Kassiopi” this the first of two

The capital of the island Corfu town is a joy. Dominated by two impressive Venetian fortresses, graced with the inspired architecture of several different cultures and surrounded by the azure ionian Sea the old town is a delight to explore. A maze of elegant narrow streets lead the curious onto hidden little platias arcaded avenues and Byzantine churches.
A stroll through the park brings you to the sophisticated arcades and cafes of the ‘Liston’, the perfect place to sit in the shade and indulge in a good coffee or ‘ouzo meze’. Shopping is excellent and provides for all tastes. From chic little boutiques and hand crafted jewellery, leather, or art studios to cheap and cheerful souvenir shops, Corfu has it all.
Kassiopi is historically a small traditional fishing village. However 2000 years ago it was the capital of Corfu island. The village lies approximately 40 km from Corfu town (Kerkyra). The attractions of Kassiopi are the picturesque harbour with its terrace bars and fishing boats. The medieval fortress (1386) that has recently been renovated completely. Panagia, Kassiopi’s seventeenth century church has several frescoes and icons of great interest. Kassiopi has everything you want for young and old.
The gorgeous bays and clear waters make snorkelling and scuba diving very popular, the diving school in the village will give test dives in the swimming pool at the villa upon request. There are many varied walks, road cycle tours and mountain bike trails that can be taken in the area around the village and across the whole island. Kassiopi has a wide range of bars and restaurants and there are plenty of places nearby to visit: Avlaki beach, San Stefanos, the sandy beaches at Kalami and St Spiridon etc. To rent a boat is a different and fun way to visit the small secluded beaches and enjoy a completely different view of Corfu island and its coastline.

Don’t forget your breakfast at Junipers English restaurant where Dawn and Darren will give you a great start to your day. Make a point to visit Spiros and his family at the imerolia Taverna where you are guaranteed the warmest welcome, a wonderful meal in a fantastic beach side setting.
Shopping in Kassiopi can be fun and exciting, from the trinket shops to the olive wood and jewellery offered at the Olive Grove you will find that special piece of memorabilia.
Night Life in Kassiopi can be as diverse as you wish, from wining and dining through to dancing the night away at an air conditioned club or watching others perform authentic local Greek dances. Every age and taste is catered for.
